Watch Out . . . Here We Go Again!
Whether you have been a Christian for years or relatively new to the body of Christ – watch out! You will be hit with the feelings of hopelessness. Everyone, even the most upbeat, victorious Christian, at one time or another will get discouraged.
Throughout the many years of my Christian walk, there have been times when I have hit rock-bottom. And, always, without fail, Satan will come to me in my weakest moment and work overtime to keep me down and preferably, out for the count.
Jeremiah 29:11 in The Message says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
I stand on those words today and declare God has my life planned out, so why should I worry? He will take care of me, not abandon me in my hour of need. He has given me a future, not just any future, but the one I hoped for. How do I know this to be true? His Word says exactly that.
The next time you are going through stressful times, whether it is your finances, marriage, children, perhaps your the job, possibly relationships, whatever the circumstance, open your Bible and read Jeremiah 29:11. Don’t just read it silently, but read it out loud into the face of Satan. Let him hear from your lips, he has no power over your life, your circumstances, or your ability to function as a born again believer. Then, act and begin to stand upon God’s promises.
Each time the enemy comes against you, you can shove the Word of God in his face. Tell him to flea, because God is in control. God has a plan for you — it’s a future with hope.
